  1. Banana Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 1 sliced banana
  • ½ cup lowfat milk
  • 2 tsp unsalted peanut butter
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 3-5 ice cubes

Add all the ingredients in a blender and mix until smooth. This is a great way to start the day because bananas are high in vitamin B6 and are a good source of vitamin C, potassium, and fiber.

  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1 cup low fat milk
  • ¼ cup organic flaxseed oil

Ingredients:

  • ½ sliced cucumber
  • ¼ sliced celery
  • ½ cup lime juice
  • 1 bunch mint
  • 2 cups spinach
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 3 to 5 ice cubes

Add all the ingredients in a blender and mix until everything is dissolved. This is very nutritious, hydrating and refreshing smoothie. Cucumber are full with water 96% to be exact,  celery and lime are rich in vitamin C. Raw spinach is high in vitamin A (betacarotene) and a good source of vitamin C and folate. Although spinach is a good source of iron and calcium, oxalic acid (a chemical that is present in the leaves) inhibits the body’s absorption of these nutrients. Absorption of iron can be increased by eating spinach with a fruit or vegetable that contains vitamin C. And this is the best way to consume spinach so you can get all the nutrients from it.

  1. Mango Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup mango cubes
  • ¼ cup mashed avocado
  • 1/3 cup fat-free yogurt
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 3 to 5 ice cubes

Add all the ingredients in a blender and mix until smooth. Avocados are known for their high fat content; however, most is monounsaturated fat. They are low in saturated fat and are sodium- and cholesterol-free. Avocados are a good source of dietary fiber. They also contain lutein, one of the carotenes that is a phytochemical with antioxidant properties. Mangoes are high in vitamin A (betacarotene) and vitamin C.
